Bulletin Board - Message
V8BB closed
Sadly we have had to close the V8BB as a determined individual has continued to post messages on the V8BB after we have formally required him to stop on three occasions. Following the last occasion he simply continued to post on the V8BB in the same manner and at a higher frequency so his postings dominated the board. We then went to the expense of getting a block set up on the control panel but he has circumvented that again in a determined way. This afternoon he has posted messages no less than 42 times, each of which we have removed. Clearly that shows he does not accept our ban or our moderation of his postings. Finally I had to contact the webhost and take the drastic step of disabling the V8BB. We are working on alternative arrangements for a V8BB which will involve improved security but unfortunately the noticeboard style of the present V8BB, which I know many members like for its simplicity and that it suits the quality aims we have for the V8BB, will probably have to change to a modern forum style. Work is in hand on the alternative. Sadly this tiring episode is caused by the selfish behaviour of an individual who has also sent a tirade of unpleasant emails to the V8BB moderator. If any member would like more information on this report or the individual concerned, then please let me know. The good news is the V8BB archive search facilities will continue to be available.
