News of the RV8 Gearknob Auction
Terry Starkey has been supplying his handmade replacement Elm burr gearknobs for RV8s for several years and amazingly the 100th gearknob has just been made. It is a very special gearknob - a classic smooth shape, showing the beauty of the Elm burr with an inset MG emblem. It has been expertly made by a local wood turner in rural Norfolk.

Terry feels it would be good to see the gearknob auctioned to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the launch of the popular V8 website in May 2002, and then have the proceeds donated to a charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. So a V8 Online Auction has been set up with a straightforward procedure - you have to register as a Bidder online, receive a Personal Bidding Code and then post your bid on the V8 Bulletin Board under the thread – “RV8 Gearknob Auction” - using that code.

The Start Date and Time for the auction is Friday 2nd April 2010 at 0900hrs UK time and the Closing Date and Time is Sunday 11th April 2010 at 2300hrs UK time. Full details of the bid (the bid process including how to register and get a Personal Bidding Code) are available via the link below. Please note all bids have to be made on this V8 Bulletin Board thread and bids may only be made by Bidders who have previously registered online and quote their Personal Bidding Code in their V8BB posting. Any bids with incorrect codes or false codes or bids made by users who have not registered will be removed.
