MGBGTV8 Velour Seat Covers
At last the BMH shell is being shipped and the rebuild planning is underway.
The original factory seats are black velour and it would be a plus to have these recovered. I do not wish leather or vinyl covers. I prefer my rear end fixed firmly to the seat. Can anyone help with a specialist who shall do this work? Many thanks,
Robert William Kerr

Robert,
If you visit the V8LIFELINE, our listing of V8 spares and service specialists recommended by fellow members, via the grey rollover button called "Spares/Services" in the row just under the scrolling banner at the top of the V8 website homepage, and then scroll down to the second section of the V8LIFELINE, you will find an entry under the heading "Trim & Seats" for PJM Motors at Market Drayton in Shropshire. Alongside that entry is a link to a V8 Workshop Note 409 which describes in some detail how to refurbish the V8 seats with replacement fine cord seat covers and of course new seat squab foams. Just one word of caution if you carry out the work yourself, do wear protective goggles because the clips you need to remove can fly off and might go into an eye. The link you need is:

You can visit the New Visitors Content guide which provides a summary of the material available on the V8 Website. The link is:

Victor,

Many thanks for this. Shall take it further over weekend, no hurry at all but would be good to refurbish during project work.

Robert,

I can appreciate Lancashire is quite a drive from Stoneleigh near Warwick, but it is a magnificent MG meeting and a good opportunity for finding useful spares like new fine cord seat covers and foams for a seat refurbishment. If you do decide to go then V8 enthusiasts meet up at Clive Wheatley's stand at 1200 noon. Stoneleigh is on Sunday 21st February 2010 - it is well worth arriving early to avoid the queues at the ticket barriers.

Victor,

Many thanks for the suggestion but Stoneleigh is a LONG way from Kuwait. Here till leave at end of May. Have visited Stonleigh before and Clive's new place at Bridgenorth. Kind regards,
